Ge Gen Tang (Kudzu Decoction) – For Both Men and Women

Function of the Formula:

Releases the exterior, dispels wind-cold, releases the muscle layer, generates fluids (sweating) (tai yang)

Symptoms that are indicated for this formula:

Chils and fever, stiff and rigid neck, shoulders and upper back, diarrhea, muscle spasms, body aches, runny nose with clear nasal discharge, headache, wind-cold bi, intolerance of wind or cold

Tongue:  thin, white

Pulse:  floating, tight

Contraindications:

Formula Cost:

$38 US dollars for 200 grams of powder (A typical daily dose is between 5 and 15 grams or 1-3 teaspoons).  200 grams is the equivalent of 400 – 500mg capsules.  Formula should be taken in two equally divided doses throughout the day and is mixed with water or juice and swallowed.
