Fang Ji Huang Qi Tang (Stephania and Astragalus Decoction) – For Both Men and Women

Function of the Formula:

Tonifies qi, tonifies spleen, releases the exterior, dispels wind-damp, promotes urination, reduces edema (wind-damp bi, wind-damp edema, wei qi deficiency)

Symptoms that are indicated for this formula:

Superficial edema anywhere in the body, especially the lower legs, urinary difficulty, fatigue, heavy sensation in the body, loose stools, palpitations, joint pain, numbness in lower body, especially knees, swelling and stiff joints

Tongue:  pale, swollen, white

Pulse:  floating, soggy

$46 US dollars for 200 grams of powder (A typical daily dose is between 5 and 15 grams or 1-3 teaspoons).  200 grams is the equivalent of 400 – 500mg capsules.  Formula should be taken in two equally divided doses throughout the day and is mixed with water or juice and swallowed.
