Chai Hu Shu Gan Tang (Bupleurum and Cyperus Decoction) – For Both Men and Women

Function of the Formula:

Spreads liver qi, harmonizes blood, alleviates pain (liver qi stagnation, wood overacting on earth)

Symptoms that are indicated for this formula:

Irritability, irregular menstruation, amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, breast distention and pain, nervousness, depression, angry, hypochondriac pain, abdominal pain and cramps, bitter taste in mouth

Tongue:  white, thin

Pulse: wiry, tight
