Function of the Formula:

Harmonizes the stomach and intestines, direct qi downwards, disperses clumps, eliminates focal distention (stomach and intestines disharmony, damp-heat in the intestines, gu syndrome)

Symptoms that are indicated for this formula:

Epigastric focal distention, fullness and tightness with little to no pain, eating disorder, stomach or abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, dry heaves, acid reflux, borborygmus (gurgling noises), fatigue, poor appetite,  heartburn, soft epigastrium

Tongue:  thin, yellow, greasy

Pulse: rapid, wiry, tight
