Bai Hu Tang (Gypsum Decoction) – For Both Men and Women

Function of the Formula:

Clears qi level heat, drains stomach fire, generates fluids, alleviates thirst (yang ming jing, jue yin heat, qi-level stomach heat)

Symptoms that are indicated for this formula:

High fever, severe chills, excess sweat, severe thirst, headache, toothache, bleeding gums, itching skin, delirious speech, mania, dry mouth, tongue, lips, skin

Tongue:  red, dry yellow

Pulse: large, flooding, rapid

Formula Cost:

$38 US dollars for 200 grams of powder (A typical daily dose is between 5 and 15 grams or 1-3 teaspoons).  200 grams is the equivalent of 400 – 500mg capsules.  Formula should be taken in two equally divided doses throughout the day and is mixed with water or juice and swallowed.
